I’m looking to get back to autocross and hopefully on-track at some point. In preparation, here’s my latest oddball; an 07 Mercedes C230 Sport
2.5 V6. Factory 6-speed. Has the sport package with all options save for Nav and has the whole factory AMG exhaust deal. Love the staggered wheels on these.
Fair deal of parts for this sitting in my basement already as I knew this would be the chassis I was doing. Adjustable Konis, H&R springs and front and rear H&R sways. Heavy and underpowered, but supposed to be a surprisingly nimble chassis. Should be a suitable and fun daily/weekend warrior combo.

Very cool. That’s a decent chassis and I like the sound of those engines with an exhaust. Did you check to see if the engine serial number is in the danger zone for the Balance Shaft gear issue?
What are your future plans? Are you going to swap the 3.5 into it?

I did. It is one of the revised cars :)
I’m going to run this gutless little V6 for a while, as I’m not the biggest wrench. Alongside student loans and finding an apartment, I’m not going to be going too crazy and will be doing it pretty incrementally.
The aforementioned suspension stuff will likely go in the weekend I register it, as I’m still daily driving my Contour until it sells and am in no rush to tear into the Benz. Other than that, it needs brakes, so I’ll likely go EBC for pads. Then an exhaust and a more competent tire and we’ll see how it is.
These are regarded as a pretty balanced and grippy chassis on the stock suspension. I suspect with tires and the sway bars alone it would be a pretty fun car to corner, but factor in the other stuff and it may be competitive.
It does have 130k on it though, so I am already thinking ahead to what I'd do if the motor pops. It's going to primarily be a commuter so I'm not too worried yet.

Thing is awesome. King Ranch and it might’ve been the comfiest thing I’ve roadtripped. I sat in the backseat, my saint of a buddy owns the truck and trailer.
Also shockingly quick with the current tune given it had over 10,000lbs in tow.

I have the AMG version of this; such a fun chassis to play with.

A 32 or 55?
I looked at both, leaning towards a 32 because of budget. Ended up deciding that factoring in insurance costs, this would be the more financially responsible.
It's cool to have the stick. It would probably be a lot cooler to have an extra 100+ horsepower
